Bhagavad Gita: Verse 2.47
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन ।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि ॥ २-४७॥
karmaṇyevādhikāraste mā phaleṣu kadācana
mā karmaphalaheturbhūrmā te saṅgo’stvakarmaṇi
Thy right is to work only, but never to its fruits; let not the fruit-of-action be thy motive, nor let thy attachment be to inaction.
karmāṇi = in prescribed duties; eva = certainly; adhikāraḥ = right; te = of you; mā = never; phaleṣu = in the fruits; kadācana = at any time; mā = never; karmaphala = in the result of the work; hetuḥ = cause; bhūḥ = become; mā = never; te = of you; saṅgaḥ = attachment; astu = there should be; akarmaṇi = in not doing prescribed duties.;
