Bhagavad Gita Chapter 5 Verse 2

Bhagavad Gita: Verse 5.2

श्रीभगवानुवाच ।
संन्यासः कर्मयोगश्च निःश्रेयसकरावुभौ ।
तयोस्तु कर्मसंन्यासात्कर्मयोगो विशिष्यते ॥ ५-२॥


śrībhagavānuvāca
saṃnyāsaḥ karmayogaśca niḥśreyasakarāvubhau
tayostu karmasaṃnyāsātkarmayogo viśiṣyate


Meaning:

The Blessed Lord said: Renunciation of action and YOGA -of-action both lead to the highest bliss; but of the two , YOGA -of-action is superior to the renunciation-of-action.


śrībhagavānuvāca = the Personality of Godhead said; saṃnyāsaḥ = renunciation of work; karmayogaḥ = work in devotion; ca = also; niḥśreyasakarau = leading to the path of liberation; ubhau = both; tayoḥ = of the two; tu = but; karmasaṃnyāsāt = in comparison to the renunciation of fruitive work; karmayogaḥ = work in devotion; viśiṣyate = is better.;
