Bhagavad Gita: Verse 2.11

श्रीभगवानुवाच ।
अशोच्यानन्वशोचस्त्वं प्रज्ञावादांश्च भाषसे ।
गतासूनगतासूंश्च नानुशोचन्ति पण्डिताः ॥ २-११॥


śrībhagavānuvāca
aśocyānanvaśocastvaṃ prajñāvādāṃśca bhāṣase
gatāsūnagatāsūṃśca nānuśocanti paṇḍitāḥ


Meaning:

The Blessed Lord said: You have grieved for those that should not be grieved for; yet, you speak words of wisdom. The wise grieve neither for the living nor for the dead.


śrībhagavānuvāca = the Supreme Personality of Godhead said; aśocyān = not worthy of lamentation; anvaśocaḥ = you are lamenting; tvaṃ = you; prajñāvādān = learned talks; ca = also; bhāṣase = speaking; gata = lost; asūn = life; agata = not past; asūn = life; ca = also; na = never; anuśocanti = lament; paṇḍitāḥ = the learned.;
